Our packaging services for oral solids include flexible package sizes and quantities customized to fit hospital automation cabinets, Scheduled II through V oral solids, Outpatient PrePacks, multi-dose packets, and overwrapped & bar-coded tablets & capsules that have not been removed from the original manufacturer’s packages. Powders
Prepackaging powdered drugs & nutritionals are an important segment of our business and a key product for our customers. Safecor Health has the ability to prepackage a wide range of bulk powder medications. Depending on the flow characteristics of the powders being filled, a determination is made to either utilize a net weight or volumetric filling procedure. The process selected will be that which yields the most accurate dose-fill.
Custom dry filling packaging equipment works efficiently to fill orders for powdered doses in a timely manner. We pride ourselves on being able to handle a variety of dry filling requirements. Although Wheaton Uni-Dose® glass vials, plastic or glass bottles, and film/foil or foil/foil pouches are also available for prepackaging powdered doses. |

Overwrapping
Safecor Health overwraps medications that cannot be removed from their primary package. These include drugs such as ampoules, vials, prefilled syringes, suppositories, patches, dose-packs, etc. Custom labeling and bar codes can be printed onto the overwrap. For those hospitals that utilize "point-of-care" medication management systems, overwrapping medications may be necessary for bar coding.
Our packaging and manufacturing center is equipped with overwrapping machinery that can accommodate drug packages of a variety of shapes and sizes. Because the overwrap is non-reclosable after opening, overwrapped drugs are considered tamper-evident. This tamper-evident feature can be used for controlled drugs and other medications where tampering is a consideration. |
